Submission Guidelines

You have a book … sort of. It needs work, but you just don’t know how to finish it up.

You have a good story, and you’ve written most of it. You just need help getting it finished up, polished, printed, and published. You’re in the right place. That’s what we do!

We work together with you to bring out a well-written book; then, when we’re done, we can publish it—you retain all the rights after a brief introductory period—or you can take it somewhere else. Need a proposal? We can help with that, too. An agent? We can help you walk through the process of finding one.

No agent? Going it alone, but you don’t want to jump through all the hoops to self-publish?

You don’t need an agent to work with us. We start with what you have and get your work to its best before proceeding.

Meanwhile, we help with the other essentials: building a tribe, finding encouragement to finish the project, and so forth. You don’t have to feel alone.

You’re multi-published traditionally…

but want more than what you received? You have your rights back. Now what?

Consider working with us to create a new plan. We can recommend a brilliant cover designer, lay out the book for publication, even submit to Amazon or IngramSpark. Contact us today.

What We’re Looking For:

Good stories, Godly advice. Books that build the kingdom of God, both fiction and non-fiction.

Not polished manuscripts, but incomplete ones, still in process. Just like the way that God receives us: not after we have ourselves all cleaned up, but as we are.

Actively looking for:

  • Christian science fiction and fantasy
  • Applying Christian principles to daily life, especially to work
  • Missionary biography
  • Devotionals
  • Memoirs
  • Women’s fiction
  • Historical or historical romance
  • Contemporary romance

Not looking for:

  • Material for periodicals
  • Anything dystopian
  • Anything with sexual content or language.

  • Why publish with us? Because you want:

    • A relationship with an editor you can trust;
    • Control over your book;
    • Active involvement in the process, including title, word count and genre;
    • Input into the cover design;
    • A higher royalty rate than you’d otherwise receive;
    • Flexibility on deadlines: We’ll work with you to fit within your time frame, especially if you’re hybrid and still writing for the traditional market;
    • A book whose message is relevant, even if it is not popular.

    What We Want:

    • A professional relationship with you, a struggling author. We’ve been there, too.
    • To glorify God by producing those works that God wants written.
    • A manuscript, with the majority of the text written. Or a proposal for a really good idea. (See the guidelines for proposals. Don’t know how to write one? We can assist with the process.)

    What We Provide:

    • Professional copy and line edits for your book.
    • Proofreading of the edited manuscript to catch any last errors or typos.
    • A custom cover designed with your input.
    • Formatting for the interior and a full cover flat.
    • Suggestions and help with special promotions and sales to bring attention to your book.
    • Uploading to various venues for sale.
    • Advice on future books and the opportunity to contract your next series with us.
    • A very generous royalty rate.
    • Full rights to your manuscript, after a brief introductory period.

    Proposal Guidelines

    If you hope to be traditionally published, you need a book proposal. We accept yours, or we would like to help you create a book proposal if you don’t have one.

    To publish with us, or to self-publish, you don’t always need a proposal, but it will help.

    Don’t know what a proposal is? Read on.

    A proposal includes:

    • Non-fiction: three chapters (usually the first three) of your book, sent as one attached document. Fiction: the whole manuscript.
    • A synopsis for the full book. If part of a series, add a minimum 3-4 paragraph synopsis for each additional book in the series.
    • Your full bio, including any writing credits, writing groups you take part in, awards for writing, and something about you. Include the word count of the book and whether it’s finished.
    • Answer these questions: What genre is it? How do you expect it to play out in the market? How does it compare to other books that are similar?
    • Your marketing abilities/social media, blog, website, speaking platform, etc. Detail how it is that you plan to spread the word about your book.
    • If the book has been published: Sales numbers and dates; any links to the book if it’s still online.

    Have you published before? What are your sales numbers and release dates?

    Allow 45 days from the date of your submission for a response.
